Plastics as Non‐Toxic Disruptors of Aquatic Ecosystems

چکیده
Abstract Plastics are receiving widespread attention as an environmental contaminant, but their role in disrupting the behavior and physiology of organisms remains neglected. Here, I highlight growing evidence that plastics have pervasive, non‐toxic effects aquatic ecosystems, especially on feeding interactions. These ultimately consequences for flow energy through food webs productivity entire ecosystems. New research efforts now needed to link synthetic polymers additive chemistries web interactions under field conditions. This knowledge could be used strengthen regulatory risk assessments, similar process other ecological‐disrupting compounds, such those interfere with hormone systems.

Abstract Heavy metals have raised one of the most important problems in ecology and organisms life especially human being and animals. A variety of indicators including tissues of fish, birds and sediment have been used recently to measure the aquatic pollution with heavy metals. The aim of this study was to search the published articles in Iran a...

متن کاملToxicity of Silver Nanoparticles in Aquatic Ecosystems: Salinity as the Main Cause in Reducing Toxicity
Background: In recent years, silver nanoparticles due to their antimicrobial properties, have formed about 56% of nanoparticles global production. Since the released nanoparticles ultimately enter water ecosystems, their maximum toxic effects are magnified in aquatic ecosystems. The aim of this study is to show how salinity can decrease the toxic effects of silver nanoparticles on exposed rai...
متن کاملEffects on aquatic ecosystems
Regarding the effects of UV-B radiation on aquatic ecosystems, recent scientific and public interest has focused on marine primary producers and on the aquatic web, which has resulted in a multitude of studies indicating mostly detrimental effects of UV-B radiation on aquatic organisms. The interest has expanded to include ecologically significant groups and major biomass producers using mesoco...
